OUT THERE ACTIONS are a troupe of performers, writers and artists based in South Devon, UK, who for many years have been creating multifarious performance and workshop events which are relentlessly accessible, participatory, and often outdoors. Our work tends to be ritualistic, archaeological and/or psychogeographic in character, with a passion for revealing the cultural history of place. In particular, we endeavour to identify, animate and pay homage to specific iconic artistic events and anniversaries which might otherwise be neglected and forgotten.  

There are four main strands to our activities:-
- intricate, playful and interactive storytelling theatre, both indoors and outdoors
- relational and ritual live art performance, frequently involving walking practices
- performance facilitation and animation, in educational or community contexts
- acting and performance workshops, focussed on devising  processes and technique  

The troupe is led and coordinated by Matt Fletcher, a performer, writer, director, workshop leader, teacher and academic with over thirty years of professional experience.

As active researchers, we constantly have fresh performance and workshop projects under development, but also relish the opportunity of working to commission, and so welcome approaches which offer the possibility of exploring new creative ideas and collaborations. As Jerzy Grotowski said, "But what is necessary? What is alive? Adventure and meeting."
